Against The Spider Cult Quest of Tibia

To start this quest you'll need to talk to NPC Daniel Steelsoul. You can find him in the castle in the middle of Edron.

Now you will need to go to the Giant Spider spawn in the Edron Orc Cave. Follow the map below (starting in Edron depot).Go down and enter the most left room. Once you reach a sewer grate, go down once again. Now follow the only possible path untill you reach the surface again. Go down where needed and rope yourself up if needed.

Now that you reached the surface, you'll need to go inside the Orc Cave. To do this, follow the map below (Snakes, Poison Spiders, Orcs, Orc Spearmen and Orc Warriors on the way). When you enter the cave there might be a stone blocking the way. In this case, use the switch to remove it. Once you can pass, go to the south of the cave (Poison Spiders, Orcs, Orc Spearmen, Orc Warriors and possibly a roped Orc Berserker on your path).

Now after you went down you will have to follow this map (Orcs, Orc Spearmen, Orc Warriors and possibly an Orc Berserker will battle you).At the next floor there will be Orcs, Orc Spearmen, Orc Warriors, alot Orc Shamans and some Orc Berserkers. It might be good to use GFBs or another area spell/rune.After you went down you will meet Orc Spearmen, Orc Warriors, 2 Orc Leaders. You will also meet Poison Spiders, Orc Shamans and Orc Berserkers later.

Down the ramp there will be a Giant Spider. After you killed it check for spider silks hanging on the wall. Behind 4 of the spider silks there will be 4 Spider Eggs. Destroy each spider silk by hitting few times with any melee weapon (you can always find melee weapons on the ground or in Orcs). After that you will need to "use" on the Spider Egg. A Giant Spider will get summoned.

Destroy all 4 eggs and kill the 4 Giant Spiders. Now return to Daniel Steelsoul and report about your mission.

Enjoy your loot!

Tibia Bright Sword Quest

The quest starts at the Outlaw camp, first you need to get 3 keys which are hidden in dead trees. There is 1 dead tree in the black circle, right click use on it and then you get key 3301, in the blue circle you'll find also a dead tree, open it to get key 3302. In the red circle is also a dead tree, also right click use on it to get key 3303.

Now that you have the first 3 keys, time to get the last key, you need to go to the so called "Snake-shaped room" the entrance to this cave can be found. You will need a shovel to open the hole. The hole is 1 square meter next to Dyloslawer.Go down the hole, in this cave are some Rats and Wild Warriors. Follow the lightblue line. You need key 3303 to open the door with the switch behind it, do this and move to the room south of the room with the switch. If you did correct, this oven should not be there anymore.Behind the oven there is a chest, the chest contains golden key 3304.

Next step is putting the barrel in position, you must have a barrel, nothing else. The hole is in the black circle.Open the hole, put the barrel in it, then move it in the next hole. Now you must place the barrel on this lightblue spot. The barrel must be on that square, else you can't rope it.Now move back and head for the minotaur tower and go up the tower. Go up the stairs twice, don't go down the hole unprepared, there are 2 Giant spiders down.Go down the hole when your ready, kill the 2 Giant Spiders You will need 3 parcels or the levitate spell to go down here. When you are down, there will be 3 Orc Berserkers and some other weaker orcs, kill them.

The next step is to sacrifice a Power ring to move a wall. You must place the power ring on the desk and then pull the switch, the desk can be found Place the ring on the desk, pull the switch. Now you must rope the barrel. You can't go there until you sacrificed the Power ring, else there will be a wall blocking the way.Now follow the lightblue line and rope the barrel. NOTE: DO NOT GO DOWN THE HOLE! Else you won't be able to come up(unless you are with 2 or more people). You can't go there until you sacrificed the Power ring, else there will be a wall blocking the way.Now follow the lightblue line and rope the barrel. NOTE: DO NOT GO DOWN THE HOLE! Else you won't be able to come up(unless you are with 2 or more people).Once you get down there will be 2 beholders and some ghouls.Kill the ghouls and beholders, then go past the lvl 45 door and place the barrel here (after the lvl door there will be 2 Demon skeletons). The barrel must be placed on the black dot.

Now 1 member of your team must go back to pull the lever to make the wall move. If you are alone, you will have to go past the Giant Spiders again.Go to the place where you roped the barrel, then out of the cave.Go down at the dead body, don't go up the tower.Go to the north, there will be 2 doors, these doors need key 3301 and 3302.You will find another door, this door is not locked, go down the stairs and move the switch there. This is what the floor looks likes when the switch is turned, this quest can only be done once a day.

Now go back to the place where you roped the barrel, stand on the place where the barrel was, and then let yourself be roped by your team member(if you are alone you should go past the Point of no return again). To get the loot, go to the floor with the Lvl 45 door and move to thereIn the room passed the wall(the wall which you couldn't pass before the switch was turned) will be several Demon Skeletons and Skeletons.

You need key 3304 to open the door and in the chest will be a bag with a Red Gem and a Bright Sword.

Tibia Celebrates 10th Birthday

Tibia and its players are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the successful MMORPG.

Tibia is one of the oldest and most successful online role playing games from Europe. The game is completely free of charge and as of this moment, more than 250,000 players from all around the world inhabit the medieval world of Tibia. The game design grants all players a great amount of liberty and offers multiple possibilities to interact on communicative, diplomatic or martial levels. Thus, each of the 72 separate game worlds represents an individual society which is strongly formed and influenced by the community itself.

“To be able to celebrate the 10th anniversary together with our players is a great pleasure for all of us. It is an acknowledgement for past efforts and at the same time a possibility to thank our amazing community for their loyalty and passion over the last years.” says Guido Lübke, co-founder of CipSoft GmbH and product manager for Tibia. Among other things, the birthday celebrations include various in-game events and the give-away of 1000 free Premium Accounts. Everybody can take part in this lottery by simply signing up on the completely redesigned website, which will be launched that day as well.

The idea to create an online role playing game with a ‘graphical user interface’ was already born in the autumn of 1995. Unlike other text-based multi user dungeons, which were common in those days, Tibia should give its players a more lively impression of the world they live in. 10 years ago and at that time still being a student project, the first permanent public game server went online on January 7th, 1997. With a permanently growing number of players Tibia had to be put on a more professional basis. Hence, in June 2001, the CipSoft GmbH was founded by today’s Executive Officers, Stephan Börzsönyi, Guido Lübke, Ulrich Schlott and Stephan Vogler. Since the beginning, Tibia has improved continuously and the number of players has never ceased growing.

“I believe Tibia appeals to the players due to several reasons: the game can be played free of charge as a matter of principle. Moreover, Tibia does not require state of the art PC hardware or a top internet connection, which makes Tibia accessible to almost everybody in the world. Being online for 10 years now, Tibia has a huge international, strong and lively community. After all – it’s a lot of fun.” says Guido Lübke, explaining the 10-year success story of Tibia.

What is stamina?

To discourage account sharers and cavebotters, CipSoft introduced stamina. The stamina bar is located in your skills window, above your magic level.

Stamina

When you're gaining experience your stamina will drop. When your stamina is full you have 42 hours of stamina. During the first hour of your hunt you'll have a 50% experience bonus (only for premium players). So, as long as you're above 41 hours of stamina you'll get 150% of the experience points you normally get.

When your stamina goes below 14 hours you'll only gain half experience and when it's on 0 you won't gain experience at all. When you're mana sitting or training, your stamina won't decrease, only when you're really hunting. For every 3 minutes your character is logged out, you'll get 1 minute of stamina back, with the exception of the last hour of regeneration, which will take 12 minutes to recover 1 minute stamina.

Stamina is not really something to worry about. It will almost never go below 30. What you can do when your stamina is getting low is playing on another character. When you play on another character your main character is logged out and stamina will restore. The only people that will really get affected are account sharers since now they have to be logged out 16 hours from the 24 hours a day got.

How to start Tibia 7.5 server

You must, first of all, start downloading a nice server. I suggest YurOTS or grimmed server

This tutorial is based on YurOTS though, so I suggest you download that one.

Now, the first step;

1. Download the server. (You must be a member to enter the downloads.)

This Step is kinda explaining itself, you download the server and extract it with WinRAR. (Download it at www.rarlab.com)

2.Now that you’ve downloaded and extracted your server, browse to the place you extracted it to. This is what you’ll see (you’ll want to be in the OTS folder):

I’ll give a little explanation of every thing displayed here.

1. This is the data folder, containing all player files, account files and other scripts needed to run your server.

2. In here is the documentation (readme and stuff).

3. Well, I don’t know anything about this actually .

4. This is the config.lua file, it contains the server configuration (such as where the map is located and what’s your ip.)

5. These are dll files needed to run the server and the tibia.dat. DON’T CHANGE OR DELETE ANYTHING OF THIS.

6. This is the .exe file needed to start your server.

3. Now you know everything you need to know about the OTS folder, next is; the data folder. Open it and this is what you see:

Again, a little explanation would be nice wouldn’t it?

1. This contains all account files. They are named in the form of number.xml

2. This contains the file actions.xml, which says to which action.lua file each item leads, and the action scripts which actually makes, for an example, doors work.

3. In here are the files of all houses. You don’t need to change these for they are allready good as they are in the yurots map.

4. This contains the items.xml file, giving all item id’s. DON’T CHANGE THESE EXCEPT WHEN YOU GOT A REASON AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING.

5. This contains all monster.xml files, telling the looktypes mana and other stuff such as attacks and loot.

6. In here are the NPC.xml and NPC.lua files. The .xml files refer to the .lua files and have got some extra information such as how the npc looks.

7. In here are the player.xml files.

8. In here are all spell scripts.

9. In here are the VIP lists of all characters.

10. The map file is in here.

11. This contains all commands. DON’T CHANGE THIS.

12. This contains the guilds, which are created at the “Guild Master”.

13. In here, it says what houses contain what items on what spots.

14. This is another file for houses. You don’t need to change this.

15. This contains the codes for the PVParena. Don’t change this for they’re already set.

16. This is the file for the waiting queue.

17. In this files all signs with text are listed with what they say.

18. This file says which monsters can be summoned for what mana. If you want you can change the mana rates a bit or add some monsters, but only do this if you understand it a bit…

4. Well wasn’t it nice to know that? Let’s get back one folder, to the OTS folder.

How to become a good mapper

Hi all,

I am sure most of you are already good mappers, but heres a tutorial to become a better mapper!

First heres what you gotta do. In any section there are many different types of tiles/grounds etc. so you probably won’t memorize them all by I.D. What I did was I kept guessing the area of the water and other important tiles or buildings. There is a little scroll bar between the sections and the place you make your map, I use that as a reference point to find my tiles/grounds etc.

Another known problem is the fact that if your server has a mapper, and every time you send him the map and he sends it back, it won’t show the spawns. This is caused by many things. 1 is that your spawn file could not be in the same folder of the map.

The 2nd problem is that you need your map editor in the same folder as you map and spawn file, or else it will not read the spawn file. Also make sure that in the “View” section, that show spawns and monsters are checked off.

Often the spawn file will be deleted if you edit the map while having the spawn file open.

Often, players forget to add the needed part to go up and down ladders. If you do, expect a noob/player to beg for a teleport (or to help him find another way out). If you make stairs to close to a wall, the character will get stuck into the wall, possibly causing a server crash.

Heres what I forgot:

How to add spawns: All you gotta do is click on the red square, or L and backwards L and place the spawn placer. Then you go into the monster section of the materials and place monsters.

How to place protection zones: Click the green box next to the spawn box, but you must place 1 pz tile at a time.

How to copy/paste maps: First, push the “R” key to select the copy tool, then push the copy tool 2 options over from the black square. Then right click to paste.

I hope this tutorial has helped you become a better mapper!

Thanks for reading and enjoy yourself in Tibia!

How to train a Knight

The art of training (for knights)

Well, the boring part of being a knight is training, and you will have to do it, no matter you want or not. This little guide will describe the way to do it.

-- The right skills for the right level --

Ok, so the first thing you should know is what skills that you should have, and this is the skills that I recommend.

Level ~20: 45/45 minimum, 50/50 recommended.

Level ~30: 55/55 minimum, 60/60+ recommended.

Level ~50: 65/65 minimum, 75/75+ recommended.

Level ~70: 70/70 minimum, 80/80+ recommended.

Level ~100: 85/85 minimum, 90/90+ recommended.

Level ~150+: 90/90 minimum, 100/100+ recommended.

Note that these may be a litte underestimated for the higher levels.

-- Choise of weapon and equipment --

There are 3 weapons you should use to train with:

Crowbar (Obtained from behemoths of bought in Edron)(Standard club can be used at lower levels) - For the club users, however I don't recommend clubs for knights, they are inefficiant, and there is no more weapon to get after the skull staff (at ~6-7k).

Knife (obtained from ghouls)(Daggers will work for the lower levels) - For the sword users. Sword is a good weapon class, however, they are expensive.

Sickle (obtained from witch)(Hand axe works for skills less than ~45) - For the axe users. Axe is probably the class that gives you the most value for your tibia money, with the Fire axe availble at ~8k.

When training on monsters:

You should use the weakest possible weapon in you class (crowbar, sickle, or knife), but apart from that you should wear your normal equipment. Also ALWAYS use full defense here.

When training on other players:

Just as when traing on monsters use the weakest weapon you can find, but you can probably use your normal shield. When it comes to equipment you should wear bad equipment or none at all, sychronize this with a suitable attack stance, to make sure you do a blood hit about every 25 hits, no more no less.

-- What to train with? --

For normal PvP och PvP-enforced:

You have a choice here, ethier you follow the non-pvp way below and train with monsters, or you can train with another player. If you choose the first option, move on to the Non-PvP-part below.

So.. now you got to find your training partner, make sure it's someone you can trust, otherwise they may kill you. Pratically anyone can train with anyone, if they wanted to Eternal Oblivion, and a random level 8 could train with each other, however, that would be a bit uneccecery. Just make sure that you balance you equipment so you will lose one hitpoint about every ~25 hits, no more, no less (rather more than less though).

When you have that part figured out, it's time to find a good place, the place should be quite lonley, so you can train without too many people passing by.

The spot should be near water, so you can fish and gain magic levels while you're at it. Preferrebly quite near a respawn of an easy monster, such as spider. This is because you will gain shielding points for 2 hits every turn, so your shielding will advance most efficient with two creatures hitting you. You should get an as easy monster as possible, prefferbly a spider, or maybye eaven a rat.

Another thing to keep in mind is too leave the equipment you don't wear in the depot, people who are training is a common target for random playerkillers, because of that they are often at least semi-afk, and wearing little equipment making them easy to kill, and usually they also keep their normal equipment in their backpack, so the loot is most likly good. The best way to prevent this is to stand in a spot where nearly no one passes by, and as I said, leave the equipent you don't wear in the depot, and also, to NEVER be afk.

For Non-PvP:

Here is probably one of the biggest cons if you have chosen Non-PvP, you can't train with other humans, you will have to train with monsters. The best monster for training is definetly rotworms, not only are they at a good level of difficulty, but they also drop good loot, and they are availible in many parts of Tibia. When rotworms are getting too easy, you can move on to minotars, and perhaps later on eaven slimes. Block the monsters away with parcels so always have 2 monsters attacking you. tibia gold Only one is inefficient, and more is just a waste. The way that i use and think is the best is to attack is to first hit one monster (slowly) down to red, then switching to the other one, and when that has reached red, just hit them both a bit to make sure they have about the same HP. When they are dead, go after new monsters. (This doesn't go for slimes, with them, ALWAYS attack the summoned slime.)

-- Good places to train with monsters --

Paladin guide: The Infamous Rookgaard - levels 1-8

A Paladin to me is in the words of the great Xanadu himself, " Mostly a loan wolf". Give an experienced Paladin enough supplies and he can perform almost any task solo. A Paladin can block as good as a Knight with the noted exception of the Challenge Spell, but their shielding advances at the same rate. People actually say a good Paladin is a better blocker than a Knight for the simple fact they understand the shooters point of view and can heal for more. It's expensive with Arrows and Bolts in the beginning, leaving you to wonder when you'll actually make money. The answer is after level 40 and distance 70 you'll be an efficient enough killer.

My Two Cents

Try to keep in mind that I've played my entire career as a Premium player so I naturally neglected a free area guide for my obvious absents of experience in this field. I'm level 72 at the moment playing in the world of Premia. Always remember that panicking is the worst idea in stressful situations as well as tense moments, try to stay focused even in sudden death situation. You would be surprised to find out how often you can make it out alive by simple choices like healing instead of running or healing the blocker first and throwing on a Energy Ring giving you time to heal. A little advice is to always carry a few backpacks of Ultimate Healing Runes but mainly heal with magic to help your magic level. Using spells like Intense Healing instead of Ultimate Healing when possible saves money on mana fluids.

The Infamous Rookguard

(Levels 1-8)

This simple little venture can be as hard or as easy as you wish. The first time I visited this place it took me 8 days to get to Main but by the second time it took me all but 56 minutes. I usually sell Rats to Tom The Tanner to get some basic equipment and a Shovel, which is usually best, accompanied by a Rope but realistically they are a little expensive together. There is a Rope that spawns once a day at the Orc Spearmen single spawn in the Troll cave to the western Premium area across the bridge to the southern direction of All'Dees shop. It's usually a pretty good gamble to wander around the free area hunting spawns such as the Old House to the north of the free town and acquiring free equipment from the dead creatures that litter the cave floors. There are various quests at the holes and ladders in the Old House but be weary of lured creatures and traps set by people. There are is also a CHAIN ARMOR QUEST followed by the CARLIN SWORD QUEST to the north past some Minos in the lower levels of the Old House. It's easy enough to acquire Leather Pants in the shop along with a Wooden Shield or maybe a Leather Helmet. Buying Leather Armor isn't a bad investment in the beginning but quickly becomes outdated with the introduction of Chain Armor or Studded Armor. If you can make it to the Goblin cave in the western Premium area, it can make for some pretty decent experience if you have strong enough skills to kill them, also I would bring some food. Your weapon class in rook doesn't really matter seeing as you will be using your distance in Main and it advances faster with the choosing of a vocation in main, given that you chose the Paladin as your destiny. Using spears in Rookguard is a waste of time since it advances faster in Main and they are harder to obtain in Rookguard for the simple reason Trolls are slow to die. Simply get new equipment as fast as possible until you can successfully kill Trolls. Go visit the Oracle to choose your visit with the advancement of level 8.

Training and Magic Information

Training is like a burden that most people accept as a sort of coming with the territory. Training is always a advantage with the notable exception to doing so in Rookguard. There is no magical level to start training because the better your skills the faster you can level in a sense. With each skill earned your damage and accuracy increases which in turn gradually reduces your Bolt and Arrow usage making for a increased profit.

Now the fun comes with the wonderful task of picking up Spear after Spear after Spear for hour after hour. If you haven't guessed I was being sarcastic, training is really annoying but the good thing is all you really need is distance 70 for graduated hunting but distance 80 is what your shooting for being the ideal distance in my mind. Training is simple enough before distance 80. Get a nice Mage friend to summon a Monk or 2 and you buy a decent amount of Spear at least a few hundred along with plenty of food which in turn makes for a decent training experience. In Tibia all avatars can block only 2 opponents at a time (A exception to this is the Halloween Hare) so with this in mind think about it like this. If you attack the Monk it has a chance to block your attack alone, so if you where to lure 2 weak creatures to attack the Monk, it in a sense breaks the shielding leaving it open to your attack giving you a higher hit percentage which means more blood hits. From what I've heard but not tested, blood hits count for more towards a advance in distance fighting. The training is boring but it goes by fast and you might even grow interested in training because of the ease prompting you to continue on. At around distance 70 it becomes harder to train on Monks because you do much more damage and the Monk can't heal fast enough to negate the damage being delt. When you have enough mana also you can convince Dark Monks in the Dark Cathedral and use either Spears and even Throwing stones come in handy if you've collected enough. In Player Verse Player servers you can train with other people also. I would suggest a Paladin around your level or a higher level Knight. It's easier to train with a Paladin in my opinion since they use thier own powerful magic spells to heal. You should be ready to change your styles of fighting that include, defensive, balanced and full attack to reach a balanced form of damage dealt and recieved. Equipment has a lot to do with training also so be ready to change it around to suit yourself and your training buddy.

So what about shielding? I got my shielding up using a Ghoul because it was so much easier since it was on my time after I could convince them. When spears started breaking I begun using a sword to train with. It's not really a major need, but it's come in handy for me plenty of times blocking creatures. It's really nothing to carry a Demon Shield on you just incase the Knight dies because you may need to take on the role as blocker or make a hasty exit and being able to block extra damage can save your life. Having a shield is great when a high level Knight is attacking you with a weapon with 45+ attack. Keep mind healing is the number one priority.

Paladin guide: Main - levels 9-40

Welcome to main an interesting place of arrival, full of many Quests, Puzzles and Mysteries to unravel. In my opinion it's best to be a Premium player when playing a Paladin for the simple reason there is a much broader creature class to hunt which is a key advantage since this vocation can kill almost anything solo with out much problem with the exceptions to the new creatures implemented like the boss's and even newer creatures in the more unknown parts.

Your first priority should be to buy either the Light Spell or the Find Person Spell, keep in mind that the Light Spell is outdated with implementation of ambient light. The update helped Paladin's since they couldn't hold light sources and had to resort to spells using magic points. I would personally start out in Darashia seeing as Paladin's can buy spells at the local magic shop located in central Darama and the Magic Carpet is moderately cheap. The particular none playable character your looking for is Razan. Your next move is really your choice as long as it involves trolls and assorted low-level creatures or training. Upgrading your equipment would also be a smart investment keeping in mind your only fighting Trolls so anything better than rook equipment will do fine. My suggestion is to go buy Scale Armor, do the BRASS LEGS QUEST, buy a Dwarven Shield, Scarf and maybe a Steel Helmet.

Edron is my place of choice with the Edron Trolls being a great source of free spears and a BRASS LEGS QUEST which is quite nice considering what your fighting. A decent distance to train to would be 60, since at this skill your accuracy is decent enough to start making a small profit at least enough to buy your supplies back with. Realistically I know no one likes picking up spear after spear all day, so 50 distance is good enough to start hunting with a Bow. At 50 distance you may or may not make a profit back using your Bow depending on what you hunt.

Arrows are your best choice at a low level seeing as they’re cheaper. The transition to Bolts is your choice but I wouldn't suggest doing so before distance 70 otherwise you might not be able to make enough profit to pay for your supplies, the bulk of the money being Bolts. It is entirely possible and not looked down upon to continue using Arrows because it can save a lot of money. I use a combination of both really with distance 85. Arrows for average creatures and Bolts for stronger creatures like Dragons or any type of group hunt because I want the most experience.

At some points after you reach level 20 you should begin thinking about getting a Promotion. A Promotion increase your magic and health regeneration as well as decrease your loss of experience from 10 percent to 7 percent of your total experience. A good idea is to save your money from the DESERT DUNGEON QUEST. This is a great investment but not your number one priority, the advantage I like is it speeds up your magic advances.

I would suggest settling down and hunting around until about level 40. This is a good time to start looking in to the Invisible Spell. Your magic level is extremely important though because it builds the foundation to the highly anticipated magic spell rune called Sudden Death. The Sudden Death Rune opens up the ability to hunt stronger creatures solo, which most Paladins including myself pride themselves.

Hunting Areas

(No point in telling you exactly where to hunt as that wouldn't be your choice so I just consolidated a list of a few places I personally have hunted at.)

GIANT SPIDER TOMB (Level 13 plus with at least 50 distance) <----(Money maker at lower levels)

Located under the large stone with the Giant Spider on it , to the far north of Ankrahmun or to the west of the ramp from Darashia. This tomb to me is ideal being as you get food from the Hyenas and the hardest creature you face is a Ghoul. With all the Skeleton's this makes for a perfect place to make a loot bag. Good idea to carry a parcel on you to send in town so you don't have to drag it to the depot and potentially thieves. Most of the second level is also prime hunting with the exception one of the north hallways which has a interesting room that includes a Mummy, Stalker, a Demon Skeleton and some more creatures if my memory servers me correctly.

PENINSULA TOMB (Level 13 plus with at least 50 distance) <----(Money maker at lower levels)

Located to the southwest of Ankrahmun on a little Peninsula near the water. The idea is to clear the first level clearing the southern most portions and the eastern most portions. To the north there is a Scarab spawn which can prove sticky at this level but possible. Not sure what’s over to the far left but if my memory serves me correctly it might be a Mummy and Demon Skeleton spawn.

MOUNT STERNUM (Level 15 plus with at least 55 distance)

Located to the northeast of Thais, this is home to a decent spawn of Cyclops's above the ground up ramps and down a ladder on the far side of the mountain. When hunting and luring the Cyclops's make sure not to get trapped by a wall or maybe another player trying to kill you. Not a bad place to hunt at a low level if it's not full of low levels. A nice Ghoul spawn is at the bottom as well as a complex system of caves that connect to Kazordoon Mines. Be weary exploring the areas past the Ghoul hole as a Giant Spider roams the caves and a single Fire Elementle spawn. There is also a single spawn Dwarf Geomancer protected by a Dwarf Guard.

GRAVEYARD (Level 15 plus with at least 55 distance) <----(Decent money maker)

An old hunting spot located below the Necromancer House in the Plains of Havoc. If it hasn't changed then it should be full of Ghouls, Skeletons and a few Demon Skeletons. The combination makes for decent loot, or it use to at least being one of the prime spots to power game a new Paladin in a new world. The loan problem is your must drag your loot bag to parcel it, either to the Outlaw Camp or all the way to a town.

DWARF SOLDIERS (Level 20 plus with at least 55 distance) <----(Decent money maker)

Located to the south of Fermur hills, there usually a few levels down. They are sometimes accompanied by Dwarf Guards so be careful. A group of them can kill you fast seeing as you have no shield and also they use bolts as a distance attack. Careful dragging your loot as a lot of bags litter the ground making it easy to loose your loot.

DWORCS (Level 25 plus with at least 60 distance) <----(Money maker)

Located to the far south of Port Hope with holes littering the ground but hidden. So you wonder why Dworcs? The reason is Dworcs are easy with good money and a low chance of dieing. I'm not suggesting you do what I did but I had 40 swording and I could one hit them with a Bright Sword giving me all gain at no loss. I got my shielding up using a Ghoul because it was so much easier since it was on my time after I could convince them. It's also decent experience at around 20K a hour. The strange little items they drop are worth their weight in gold ranging from 250gp to 750gp. They also drop a rare dress called a Bask Skirt which is part of the Sweaty Cyclops Quest in Ab'dendriel for the OBSIDEN KNIFE QUEST. If I didn't have 40 swording I would have to advise you to drag some arrows there and kill them collecting the throwing knifes and using them, keeping your expenses down. With that said I would suggest killing the Voodoo Masters first after acquiring some Dwarven Rings because the Voodoo Masters cast Paralyze, Poison and make you Drunk. Your going to be Poisoned around 99 percent of the time so no use in curing it, might as well save it to use Intense Healing unless the Poison is from a Voodoo Master which is around 4-5 damage.

PLAINS OF HAVOC CYCLOPS (Level 30 plus with 70 distance)

The Cyclops's in the Plains of Havoc make for a nice bit of experience. To the south are roaming undead creatures including Ghouls, Demon Skeletons and Skeletons. There are Orcs to the farther south and also Hunters. The worst of your worries is the infamous Giant Spider spawns scattered below the Cyclops's, so be careful. There is a ramp in the Cyclops camp that leads down a hole with a lot of Minotaur class creatures along with Cyclops's. A daily weapon spawn is located in this cave so you can take advantage and make some free money. If you should go for the spawn I would suggest going invisible, seeing as going down and running is nearly impossible and will lead to a loss of profit through healing.

(Beware of the Minotaur Archers and encampment of Minotaur on your way down)

MINTWALLEN (Level 30 plus with at least 65 distance) <----(Biggest money maker)

Located in the Old Temple to the north of Thais. You must walk a through a long complex tunnel and past Poisen Fields or a single Dragon spawn. The hardest part about hunting in this place is actually being able to get the spawn since everyone always wants to hunt there. The initial spawn at the front gate can be a bit tricky with the Minotaur Archers, Minotaurs and Minotaur Mages, accompanied by Minotaur Guards all at one time which can make for a rude awakening if you rush in. The idea is to lure as few Minotaurs as possible from the entrance back down to the bridge. You can rope the Minotaur Mages up at the front gate to the third level and not have to worry about them. If you can find the keys displaced around the town you can lure the Minotaur Mages up the stairs in Thrown Room to the ledge outside or the tower to the south of the room. If you haven't done the POSTMANS QUEST don't say anything to Markwin the guy that looks like a Minotaur mage, because he summons alot of different Minotaurs at once which is part of the quest. (Bring some food or a Fishing Rod and Worms, also if possible get a Obsiden Knife seeing as Minotaur Leather can sell for a decent amount in bulk)

CYCROPOLIS (Level 30 plus with at least 65 distance) <----(Decent money maker)

Located to the northeast of Edron, Cycropolis hence the name is full of Cyclops's as well as other interesting creatures like Dwarf Guards and Dwarf Soldiers. A collection of Orcs is located on the first floor to the far northeastern corner as well as a assortment Elf Arcanist and Elf Scouts so I wouldn't suggest exploring this area. The first level is easy if you can get past the stairs at the beginning, which can be tricky, so bring a few Great Fireball Runes to clean the Cyclops's and the 3 Dwarf Soldier's complete with a Dwarf Guard. (Side note careful wandering in the forest as there is a Hunter camp to the northwest of the trail to Cycropolis)

HEROS (Level 35 plus with at least 70 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

Located to the north western parts of northern Edron, it's to the north of Edron 9 spawn Dragons. One of the hardest parts about Hero’s is actually making it to them. A hunters camp guards the entrance to begin with followed by Demon Skeletons, Priestesses, more hunters, Beholders, Monks and finally a 3 spawn Dragon. I would suggest 2-3 shooters and a blocker around level 40. You could also take some Explosion Runes for sticky situations on entry and exits. An idea that also works is going Invisible with the spell or ring then casting hast to run past all the creatures except the dragons. There is a 1 spawn and a 2 spawn Hero along with groups scattered across rooms off to the side of the hallway to the Annihilator where it’s possible to rope them up.(Make sure to bring food, as it’s a little scarce down here)

Paladin guide: Graduated hunting rights - levels 40-60

DWARF GUARDS (Level 40 plus with at least 70 distance) <----(Decent money maker)

Located to the south of Fermur hills, the caves look like mines. There is also a small mine located in the castle if you want to try them out. Dwarf Guard's are as easy as it gets for this vocation. At around level 40 with 70 distance you can start hunting them seriously. What I mean is you can make a profit around 70 distance. When you first start attempting I would bring some Great Fireball Runes and maybe even a shield when you first pop down the hole. People like to lure Dwarf Guards to the holes so that some unsuspecting person might pop down to their doom. This also occurs when someone is in a hurry to leave and they end up luring them to the hole. (POSTMANS QUEST RECOMENDED)

HYDRAS (Level 40 plus with at least 70 distance) <----(Usually big money maker)

Located in the jungles of Port Hope to the far north east, but it's easier to travel through the Ankrahmun mountains through the Hyenas spawn. Hydras are a moneymaker given the right set up and balance of a team. I wouldn't suggest trying to solo one though for the simple reason they heal so much. Depending on your world the smaller spawn might not be up to par for a decent team for the simple fact you'll kill them to fast. I would suggest at least 2-3 attackers and a level 50 Knight to block. A good mix is to throw in a Druid to heal the Knight with magic increases the time you can hunt and deducting the price on Ultimate Healing Runes. (Manashield is recommended)

NECROMANCERS (Level 40 plus with at least 75 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

You need to acquire 2 Convince Runes and use the Invisible Spell or a Stealth Ring to get to the bottom of the pyramid. I would suggest bringing a few backpacks of Heavy Magic Missile, as well as the essential Ultimate Healing Rune accompanied by a bag of bolts plus what you’re carrying. At the first grand spawn I would suggest having some Great Fireball Rune because Necromancers can be tricky and they heal fast, being able to kill the creatures fast saves you healing and the possibility of death. The North spawn is has 5 Necromancer where is to the south there’s a few wandering Demon Skeletons that lead to a double Necromancer spawn to the southeast and a 3 spawn to the southwest, in between the 2 and 3 spawn lies the entrance to Vampire Hell as well as a family of Demon Skeletons. The idea is simple, keep at least one Demon Skeleton in between you and the Necromancer your fighting to take the damage while you bolt and possibly use Heavy Magic Missile Runes depending on how much money your willing to spend. Spread the charges out shooting just a few per Hydra to increase your experience pull which adds up after hours of hunting.

(Bring some support runes like Heavy Magic Missiles for the Ghost)

DRAGONS (Level 45 plus with at least 75 distance) <----(Decent money maker)

Dragon's are great for Paladin's because we can kill them with little effort and minor waste. I would suggest using Intense Healing and manafluids instead of healing runes to make it more profitable. The Ankrahmun spawns are easy with plenty of space to run around. Venore Dragons is a nice place also if it isn't camped. Try to keep at a diagonal position from the Dragon to dodge it's Firewave. Dragons run in red so chase them but try to stay diagonal since they continue attacking and sometimes spam attacks. It is also entirely possible to camp Dragons with 2 convinced Demon Skeleton's but be sure to bring Intense Healing Runes to heal them.

(Take some Heavy Magic Missile Runes to kill them faster and increase your experience gain)

DRAGON LORDS (Level 45 plus with at least 75 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

At around this level I wouldn't suggest trying to solo one though it is possible. Venore Dragon tower to the south of Venore is a nice place for a set up. Have the Knight stand at a diagonal direction to dodge the Fire Waves. A good idea to take some Heavy Magic Missiles because Dragon Lords have good defense and you want to draw as much experience as possible. They are hard to kill with one shooter so I suggest having at least 2 or 3 shooters.

BLACK KNIGHTS (Level 50 plus with at least 80 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

Located to the north of Venore in a Broken Down House with swamps around it. You can either run with Boots of Haste and Haste while bolting or use a few Sudden Death Runes. If you decide to use Sudden Death Runes I suggest using a shield. You need to find the key in a dead true near the Black Knight Villa. At 50 it would increase your chance of profit by having a Knight block and possibly add a Druid to heal and support. Black Knights hit hard if they can catch you which is almost promised seeing as they are quite fast. They throw spears as ranged combat also.(Bring a few Great Fireball Runes to clear the other creatures in the Black Knight Spawn or you could get in trouble)

VAMPIRE HELL (Level 55 plus with at least 80 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

Located to the south of the 2 and 3 spawn Necromancers in western Darashia. You'll need to make it past all the Ghost and Demon Skeletons to get to the Vampires. The spawn starts out like 1-2 and then keeps increases till it eventually leads to 5 at the last spawn. Make sure to bring manafluids to refill your mana, which you will be using to heal the Paralyze. You can use Heavy Magic Missile Runes also and are a must to kill the Ghost.(I would suggest bringing some Great Fireball Runes for the 5 spawn to the north and just incase you get in a sticky situation)

Paladin guide: Professional hunting - levels 61-80

BEHEMOTHS (Level 60 plus with at least 80 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

Located in the lowest level of Cycropolis, these beast are tricky to hunt. I would suggest a level 70 plus Knight with Behemoth experience as it's tricky luring them and someone can easily die. 2 or 3 shooters will do to kill them fast enough given that the blocker doesn't lure more than one. At higher levels you can block here and host group hunts reaping the rewards from the Behemoths in return for safe passage of the attackers and promise of free experience. It is possible to solo one around level 70, and involves using a shield and Sudden Death Runes standing at the steps taking the damage while dealing it. When you'r more experienced you can run around shooting one to take away from the damage taken but be careful not lure more and remember they have a ranged attack.

(Not a bad idea to bring a shield just incase the blocker dies and if your with a group manashield comes in handy as they do switch often)

DRAGON LORDS (Solo) (Level 60 plus with at least 80 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

At around level 60, but 70 suggested you can start hunting Dragon Lords solo. The best set up I have found is the one you can rope up in the Edron 10+ spawn Dragons south of Heros. You need to kill all the Dragons first in the main room. At lower levels it's not a bad idea to take some Sudden Death Runes just incase, you lure a extra Dragon while running it.

(Heavy Magic Missile Runes are suggested to speed up the kill)

DEMONS (Level 60 plus with at least 80 distance) <----(Possibility of incredible money maker)

I would suggest getting a level 65+ Knight to block for you or a high level Paladin with around 1000+ health with at least 2 more shooters. At higher levels you can go alone with a blocker and take all the experience. It is possible to solo a Demon around level 70 and I did so at level 71. The trick is to run the Partchment Room with Boots of Haste, Haste Spell and a Time Ring constantly running and using Sudden Death Runes. Stay diagonal to dodge the deadly Energy Beam and your first priority is to heal. It's expensive to solo one and quite a venture because the good chance of death.

(It's a good idea to use Magic Shield when ever possible)

DEEPER FIBULA (Level 70 plus with at least 80 distance) <----(Possible money maker)

(Solo or accompanied)

This place is tricky to solo with there being 15+ Dragons, and 4+ Dragon Lords. The are is extreamly large with plenty of objects you can use to your advantage to dodge the Fire Waves. Around level 70 you can solo it but bring plenty of supplies and know that 3 Dragon Lords block the exit so I hope your a good lurer if your going alone or have a experienced friend with you.

Paladin Guide: Making Tibia Money

Looting

There are different ways and places to go but I have personally found a few to stand out in the past. Mintwallen, Hydras and Dwarf Guards are some of the best places in my opinion in that order. Most people will tell you that collecting loot is the best way and that's how I look at it. Loot bagging is an essential part of everyday Tibia and makes for a proficient source of income for any vocation. Just try to think of it as free money. Most people don't pick up little stuff like Hatchets but if you think about it, it's actually like leaving 25gp on the ground repeatedly, which deducts from what your gross total could be.

That's my point of view but I don't blame you if you don't collect the little things usually anything under 50gp as can be a bit bothersome to go all the way to Fibula to sell them but keep in mind you should be collecting Bows and Cross Bows so you'll have to make the trip anyway. You can drag your bag around with you or hide it with at least a backpack of bolts as partial contents, having some extra backpacks makes looting more enjoyable and since you won't carrying it because you should have done the POSTMANS QUEST the weight should be of no matter. If you're not good at saving money like me, just save up the loot keeping it organized, which makes for a faster more efficient selling experience. I usually sell a loot bag that weighs at least 100k oz because at that weight your pretty much guaranteed a decent sum of cash.

Clearing Quest

People will always need help doing quest. You can charge them money to clear the quest or even accompany them. Here are just a few that occur often enough to note.

BLACK KNIGHT QUEST- The idea is to run the Black Knight around the room while you bolt it and use Sudden Death Runes, you can charge a group of low levels a set price and it adds up depending on the number of heads on the hunt. You'll need to find the key in a dead tree near by. (Need level 50)

BANSHEE QUEST- This quest is a bit more tricky as the last seal can't be infiltrated by people that have all ready done so, but the people always need help killing the Warlocks and just for support. (Need level 60)

STEALTH RING QUEST- This is a easy set up to be honest, I can go invisible and clear the entire pyramid with one cast of Invisibility. It's located to the far northeast of Darashia. (Need Invisible)

EDRON ORC QUEST- Pretty easy for the most part, just a lot of Orcs and one Giant Spider to deal with. It's located through the sewers in the largest apartment like complex to the south of the southern most Edron Castle gate. (Shield recommended)

BLOOD HERB QUEST- Another easy one being that a Giant Spider is the only creature that poses anything-immediate threat. (Shield and Heavy Magic Missile Runes recommended)

DEEPER FIBULA QUEST - This quest takes a little planning with the amount of creatures your killing. People in newer worlds will need help around level 50 as well as more with the progression of time. You need a key or two down here so make sure you do your homework and ask around. (You have to be at least level 50 to get through the doors so any higher just makes it easier)

Investments

People need money to advance in level, as they level they make money also. What I'm getting at is that you can essentially make money by capitalizing on this idea. I personally usually invest in Mages or Knights since their gain is usually higher than that of a Paladin. Let's say you loan a sorcerer 20 backpacks of manafluids, you could make a deal like you get all the loot he collects as payment which depending on the skill of the Sorcerer should bring you in a little award. The downside is the reward might be small but if you think about it and you can increase the amount loaned as time progresses to receive larger rewards and its free money.

Trading

If you keep the Trade Channel open enough you'll sometimes notice a nice or maybe decent item selling way below the average price. Your goal here is to buy an item for as low as possible then sell it for the normal price. Patient is a must in this venture as items are hard to sell sometimes. Keeping this in mind next time you see a Crusader Helmet for 4K don't think twice just buy it because at the worst case scenario you can have someone sell this item to a Djinn.

World Trading

You can buy items cheaper in older worlds and this sometimes comes in handy. Think about it like this, if I was to buy a Magic Plate Armor in say Antica for 300K, then I could simply world trade it to a newer world where it's say 650K. By world trading a item like this you double your money. You can trade money from your current world to another to do this technique, but don't trust everyone now. It takes times and a few times getting tricked sometimes to learn, but after a while you'll be able to smell a trap from a mile away. Trade low amounts and you might want to be trying to find out about reputations of the recipient. There are plenty of ways to find this out ranging from asking around for local gossip or in the Game Chat Channel.

How to do quest with actions

At first you need a exemple of quest script like that:

—example of quest—function onUse(cid, item, frompos, item2, topos) if item.uid 2000 then queststatus = getPlayerStorageValue(cid,1000)if queststatus -1 or queststatus 0 or queststatus 3 or queststatus 2 or queststatus 4 or queststatus 5 or queststatus 6 or queststatus 7 then doPlayerSendTextMessage(cid,22,"You have found a Vampire Shield.") picture_uid = doPlayerAddItem(cid,2534,1) setPlayerStorageValue(cid,1000,1) end else return 0 end return 1 end

Then the only thing you have to change is at second line "if item.uid (there you should put the number you want) then.Well.. that number you will have to put in the map, on the item you want to put the quest by clicking right click on the item and properties. (If its simeone editor).

There is the most important part of the quest script:

-To make them work fine, and to do more than one quest, you have to put all queststatus how quest scripts you have.. that means (if you have 3 quest, you will have something like that “if queststatus -1 or queststatus 0 or queststatus == 3”, ATENTION!! The number 1 is missing cause its the queststatus that questscrip have.. “setPlayerStorageValue(cid,1000,1)”.. so.. the other quest for exemple will have “setPlayerStorageValue(cid,1000,2)” and the missing queststatus has to be the number 2 and need to have the other queststatus, like quest1= storage1 then in that quest the queststatus missing will be the 1, in quest2=storage2 then in that quest the queststatus missing will be the 2).

And finally you have to change that text for the item you are going to put in the quest “doPlayerSendTextMessage(cid,22,”You have found a Vampire Shield.”)” and then put the ID of the item there “picture_uid = doPlayerAddItem(cid,2534,1)” and thats all.

How to change the attack speed

1) When installed Dev C++ Go File, Open And look for ur server. When found go into souces folder and open Game.Cpp

2)press shift+alt+f, then search for “player->eventCheckAttacking”

If that dosnt work try “player->eventCheckAttacking = addEvent(makeTask(1600, std::bind2nd(std::mem_fun(&Game::checkCreatureAtta cking), player->getID())));”

3)double-click the last one that comes up, the line should be:

player->eventCheckAttacking = addEvent(makeTask(1600, std::bind2nd(std::mem_fun(&Game::checkCreatureAtta cking), player->getID())));

(the numbers will be different depending on the protocol)

the first number in the parenthesis for makeTask is the attack delay.

Now, the number 1600 means 1.6 seconds fix it up too how u like.

How to compile OTS in Tibia

First, download and install dev-c++ here

do not continue unless dev-c++ is successfully installed!

download the latest libxml dev-pak here

run & install that too! (you can only install it if dev-c++ is successfully installed)

download the latest boost dev-pak here

run and install this, the same as libxml!

download the lua dev-pak here

run and install this, just the same as libxml and boost!

download the libiconv dev-pak here

run and install this just like the other ones

If you don’t already have winrar, download that here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

And if you don’t already have the source you want, look for it and download it.

1) Now open Dev-C++

2)Go to File>New Project. Choose “Console Application”

3) Create a new folder in the folder “My Documents” named “OTServ”

4) Save the Project in there (preferably as OTServ again)

5) Now, extract your source into your “OTServ” folder.

6) Go to Project>Add to Project.

7) Add all your source files.

Note: Only do step 8 if you want to use xml for your players, accounts, etc!

8) On the “Project” window to the side, right click “database.cpp” and “database.h” and select “remove”. Do the same for any files that have “sql” in their name.

Note: Only do step 9 if you want to use sql for your players, accounts, etc!

9) On the “Project” window tothe side, any files that have “xml” in their name and select “remove”.

10) On the “Project” window to the side, remove “main.cpp”.

11) Your source should’ve come with a file named !compiling.txt (or c++ compiler.txt), which gives you information you need for compiling. Open that. (You can do it straight through Dev-cpp, no need to open My Documents to look for it)

12) Go to Project>Project Options (or just hit alt+p) and press the “parameters” tab. Paste the contents of !compiling.txt here

13) Click in the “linker” box so that the cursor goes there. Paste this there:

-llibxml2

-llua

-llualib

-lwsock32

-s

-Wl,-Map=otserv.map

For the latest CVS / 7.8 servers, do the below as well as the rest of the tutorial:

Add the glfw and gmp DevPaks from tools check for updates/packages… [in packman]

Add

Code:

../../Dev-Cpp/lib/libboost_regex-mgw-mt-s-1_33_1.lib

To the linker parameters

14) Now close that by pressing the “OK” button.

15) Go to execute>compile.

Wait for it… it may take a minute, it may take 10. Just be patient. That’s why I don’t like compiling for other people.

if there are any errors, post here, it’s probably a linker problem.

16) If you compiled correctly, you’re still not done. Now along with the server there should be at least 5 dll files (most likely more).

17) Now in a different window, open your “OTServ” folder. There should be a handful of new files in here. The one you’re looking for is “OTServ.exe”, it’ll be the one with the console window icon. Right click that and rename it to “Original Compiled Server”. Then copy it and paste it into the folder with those .dll files. (Those files are needed for it to run). If it doesn’t run properly, post here about the errors it says it has.

Journey Onward: How CipSoft Made Tibia Come Alive

Around 1980, a couple of visionary programmers created the first text based online adventure games for computer systems. They were called multi-user dungeons, or MUDs. By typing commands like "north," "south," "take" or "use" the players moved and interacted in virtual environments which were completely made up by texts. There were no dungeons and monsters visually appearing on their screens, only descriptions saying "You are standing in front of an ancient shrine. Suddenly a giant black knight steps out from the shadow and draws a mighty axe!" Now the computer system would wait for you to type the next command. Scary.

Almost twenty years after the advent of MUDs, three young computer science students from Regensburg, Germany, started to work out an ambitious plan.

Inspired by those games, and the first simple graphical multi-user dungeons that followed, Steve, Stephan, and Durin decided to make an adventure game by themselves. Unlike the early text based MUDs, it should have a graphical user interface and a visual fantasy game world ready to be explored through the internet. It should be a real online role playing game with a sophisticated chat function for hundreds, or even thousands of players worldwide. The three decided to join forces at least until a first playable public version of what they called GIMUD - an abbreviation for Graphical Interface Multi-User Dungeon, the working title they chose for it - was finished. Although everybody had a general good feeling about it, there also was a smell of wariness in the air because, in the end, the whole project could either turn out to be a huge success, or a total waste of time. It was unpredictable.

On a sunny spring day in 1996, the three full-time students started out as part-time game developers to create a cutting-edge interactive entertainment product. They called themselves CIP Productions, referring to the name of a financial aid programme for German universities. With the money of this fund computer rooms, so called CIP-Pools, were set up which provided students with free access to the internet. For their ambitious project, the three game developers not only made use of their own private hardware, but also of the university's technical infrastructure, its servers, software, and the World Wide Web.

The development of GIMUD advanced rapidly. Already in August, they had a server programme running on Linux and a client programme running on Windows which allowed them to move a first wannabe character around in a rudimentary game world. When the world started to grow both in content and features, and slowly took the form of a fantasy setting, the game, they thought, needed a name that better fits the medieval style they were going to create. GIMUD was a much too technical name, so they chose Tibia which, they were convinced, would be unique and fresh, and without any given meanings yet. Well, later they found out that Tibia is the Latin anatomic term for shinbone, and it became a running gag in the future development of Tibia to give some ingame areas anatomic names as well, like Fibula or Mount Sternum.

When the first permanent public test server was successfully set up on the 7th of January 1997, the CIP Productions crew was extremely excited. Their very own game, finally published on the internet! A self-made logo appeared on the screen when the client was started, showing the name Tibia and the slogan "New Game, Journey Onward", both written in golden letters and placed against the background image of a rising sun. The first player visited Tibia on the 10th of January, three days after its release. He named his character Albe and was enthusiastically welcomed by the three gods when he entered the virtual grounds that spanned no more than 160 x 160 tiles in the beginning. At that time, there were no NPCs, vocations, and skills in Tibia, no magic spells could be cast and there was not a single depot available to store items. All those features, and many more, were only implemented within the first years after the initial release.

In 1999, Steve, Stephan, and Durin got to know Guido through a common real life friend. As it turned out, Guido already had a character in Tibia and played the game in his spare time. They had some fruitful conversations about Tibia and its future development. Guido, being a physicist with a strong analytic mind, immediately sensed great opportunities for the whole project. He was so intrigued by what he heard about it that he joined the god team and started out as a game content designer helping to expand the game world and to create monsters and items.

The four realised that they shared the same vision which became the moving spirit for their joint endeavour: to develop games based on new technologies, and to make them truly innovative by realising own ideas, rather than by just copying existing concepts. Soon it became apparent that Tibia was the result of this shared vision right from the start. Back in 1997, Tibia was one of the very first graphical role playing games in the internet, and therefore technologically absolutely outstanding at that time. By creating a persistent virtual fantasy world with unique features, the final game would also be really innovative in style and appearance. Tibia was never meant to be a high-end product regarding system requirements, but a cutting-edge game which should tap the full entertaining potential of the up-and-coming World Wide Web in the 1990s. And it truly did. Given that it emerged from a hobby project, Tibia became a huge success and attracted numerous players all over the world.

So from the very beginnings, the major aim of the Tibian gods was to develop games, not to found a company. They were not very interested in business and legal matters at that time but in making great games for ages. Well, when more and more players joined the game, growing demands on copyright, technology, and contents arose. They had to register Tibia as a trademark, buy more powerful servers, add novel areas and create plenty of new graphics. In the near future, they anticipated, even more manpower and own office spaces would be necessary to keep up with their tight development schedules. They already spent some money on this project, and would have to spend a lot more if they really wanted to make their vision of Tibia come true. The gods had to do something.

In June 2001, they finally abandoned their CIP Productions identity and turned into a real company. With the foundation of CipSoft they started to venture into a new direction: they left behind their student life and became a professional, goal oriented development team. This major step also put Tibia on a new level: with a corporate enterprise in the back, the legal grounds were laid to be an employer one day, to hire programmers and designers for pushing the game forward, to earn money and to spend it wherever necessary to make Tibia become the game they wanted it to be one day.

In order to keep their status of an independent games developer, CipSoft was founded without any outside capital. Until the present day, CipSoft is fully self-financed which means a lot of freedom for the management team and the employees. Moreover, the decision was made that CipSoft should publish its games by itself, so no third party would be involved in the distribution and marketing process. This set-up is quite unusual for the great majority of game companies on the market, but it brings along several benefits: you can pursue very own and creative ideas, even if they are completely maverick. There is no external party which sets the agenda for your game and defines its contents and features. Moreover, you are not under deadline pressure since you are the one who sets the development schedule.

However, the downside of being fully independent and a developer-publisher all in one is that you are completely on your own out there. There is no sponsor who gives you money for all the time and energy you put into your games, hoping that his investment will literally pay off in the future. Being a stand-alone company, you have to work hard for your success and come up for all expenses by yourself - computer workstations, servers, firewalls, phone bills, wages, taxes, office rent, furniture, just to mention a few. CipSoft took the risks and decided to start up as a game company right from the campus. Today, CipSoft's major product Tibia is the oldest still existing commercial MMO in the world.

Looking back, the decision to venture into independence with an MMO at hand was absolutely worth while. In 2007, CipSoft ranked fourth in the list of Germany's fastest growing technology companies! It grew to an enterprise with more than 50 employees, many of whom had been hired directly from the player community like Craban, Mercutio, Chayenne, Knightmare or Grimrath. Solkrin, also being a former community member himself, was the very first employee at CipSoft. No, he did not start out as a programmer or a designer. Solkrin was hired for doing customer support! He joined in 2003.

For such fast growth, an efficient organisational structure is necessary. The CipSoft staff is split up into seven different departments today that act in concert to develop Tibia further: programmers, game content designers, system administrators, customer support representatives, community managers, a marketing specialist and several employees for internal organisational matters. Having separated areas of responsibilities is a must for a smooth-running daily business. A company like CipSoft also has to have a great passion for all kinds of games, and a lot of fun playing them. Handling both creativity and organisation at the same time, however, is not always easy. Every now and then, important decisions have to be made which might add new features to the gameplay or remove others. A lot of creative ideas flourish in the minds of CipSoft members but unlike in former times implementing them instantly would entirely jumble the product management's long-term strategies for Tibia now. In most cases, those decisions have to be thought through very carefully. This frequently takes a lot of time because several analyses and discussions with the team leads are needed beforehand in order to find the best possible solutions.

In retrospect, the foundation of CipSoft and the development of Tibia cannot be separated from each other. There is only one big story to tell and this one includes both the company's and the game's history. CipSoft considers itself to be a pool of passionate people from very diverse backgrounds who pursue a common goal: making truly innovative games by realising own ideas. All of us are aware of the fact that this goal cannot be reached without having a strong and supportive community we can count on. When the community management department was launched by the end of 2008, one of the biggest improvements in the history of CipSoft has finally been made: the community was given a voice inside the company.

Having two more products in its portfolio now, CipSoft already advanced another step further. TibiaME is the first massive multiplayer online role playing game for mobile phones, launched in 2003. The other one is Fiction Fighters, an interactive online comic which is still in development. This would be an excellent hook for a re-writing of CipSoft's history: first, there was a small company inseparably linked to a single product, Tibia. Now, there is a fastly growing enterprise that stands behind a couple of projects pushing all of them forward. What will be next?

Boh quest in Dark cathedral

Well this is my first post in tibiafans (srry boyout my bad english).

First of all i dont think is Boh there. Anyway is a qyouest there and is not simple, here is how you can do it (what i coyould find in there exept scarry parts where i almost died like 100 times):

First of all you need a team: no more then 2 blockers lvl 30+ (more will jyoust block each other is a small passage there), 4 shooters mage`s ryoull few pally will do the trick too.

Mimyoum 6 players (i syouggest 30+) cose you need to pyoull all levers in less then 1 min to get throw teleporter sityouated in the middle of the floor with all assasins and dark monks.

What to bring with yoyou : Tons of gfb (20 bps all 6 players) , Mana flyouids 2 bps each , blockers shoyould have 6 bps of youh each (i yoused 4 bps of youh at lvl 60) and some hmm like 3 bps.

If you have this team you shoyould be able to do it byout a syouggestion for blocker NEVA ryoun after whiches you`ll die for syoure!

We'll find after yoyou go throw teleporter : what you faced till you got to teleporter was easy now comes the scarry part, you`ll meet near teleporter 4 assasins 2 or 3 dark monks 1 or 2 whiches. After that go youp with blocker first, you`ll meet monsters like : Demon skeleton, ghost, assasins, dark monk, stone golem, hyounter (maybe others i probably forgot). Carefyoul they dont come one bye one yousyoualy 4 by 4 (4 hyounters and 4 which in same place hyourts like ****).

After you went a little youp go left to get a Bone key, go back and take right, there you`ll see a door with a lady trapped there, open door and talk to her( Well thats all i coyould manage to do there, the best i coyould get from that lady was to teleport me oyoutside of door). Exit from qyouest is: Go back carefyoull FyouLL RESPAWN , and when you go back throw teleporter Blockers move 2 sqyouares forward so mages and pally have a chance of syourviving.

In my opinion is a lady in distress qyouest, waste of ryounes total ownage on younexperienced players (they die there withoyout even getting to teleporter)

My team was composed from 3 knights (60,38,40) 2 mages (29,34)

How got you out from that doomed place from my team : me (lvl 60), knight lvl 38, rest died
so dont go younprepared like me is jyoust to painfyoull

Tibia Magic Items and Internet Attack

Some items that are already available in the game will finally get magic features. All magic effects grant low advantages which will last only temporary. A soon as all charges are used up, the items will vanish. Please consider this while trading the following items:

strange talisman: lowers damage by energy for several attacks might ring: lowers damage by all kind of damage for only a few times stealth ring (the old death ring): makes you invisible for some minutes power ring: improves your fist fighting by a few points for some minutes energy ring: grants mana shield for some minutes life ring: grants additional regeneration for some minutes time ring: lets you walk faster for some minutes silver amulet: lowers damage by poison for several times bronze amulet: lowers losses by mana drain for several times

A computer worm slowed down large parts of the internet including our providers. Therefore you could not access the Tibia website and the game worlds for some hours. You can read more about this e.g. at CNN.com. We are sorry for the inconvenience but this incident is beyond our control.

The capacity of all servers is reached and it is again time to upgrade them to handle the still growing interest in Tibia. Therefore we will exchange some servers at our US provider and at our German provider in the course of the next days.

There have been some changes in the gamemaster team in the last days. Most important, three new gamemasters have been added. Further improvements in the support team and more information for you in the manual and the FAQ will follow in the next time.

After the redesign of the forum, we want to remind you of the general purpose of it. The forum is a place where you can communicate with other players outside the game. Please stick to the topic of each board and respect the Tibia Rules and thus the other players in your postings. Besides discussing subjects with other players, you can ask for help in the support section. Please understand that we cannot answer your requests in the forum personally but the moderators and counsellors will gladly assist you.

Have fun in Tibia!

Here's an older sample strategy

Leveling and GP Guide

Note: Premium suggested.

Mages: Rune making while leveling at northwest rot worm cave, Hell-Gate using summons, party hunt on GS and Draggy's. Note: For mages, train Magic to 50+ and level to 42+ and wait until you can go for Armageddon questing (after its update)

Knights: Train until 75/75 skills (Eq: Knight set, Bright Sword/Fire Axe/Skull Staff, 5 bps of uh). Hunting area: Poh, Mino kingdom, Kaz Dwarf Mines, Edron, Darashia.

Paladins: Train skills up to 78/62+ (Eq: X-bow, 500 Bolts, 2 bp of uh, Crown Set, and Boots Of Haste). Most recommended area to level up: Poh (with at least 400 bolts). Party Hunts: Poh: Knights block, while Paladin and Mages attack, Demon-Knights block, two Mages stand by to heal, three Mages SD, two paladins SD and shoot Bolts.

Use the following trick for level 8 knights training in mainland. If you go to Carlin and have a shovel, go to west exit of Calin. Starting walking north until you see a forest. When in the forest, start going northwest until you get out of it, then go north until you see a forest to the left. Note: This may be only be on your map. When you see it, go west until you see the sea in your screen. Then, go to north to find a gray rectangle on your map. Click on it and wait your character goes to it automatically. When on it, say to the NPC:

* hi

* folda

* yes

You will give 20 gp and will go to Folda. Once there, you will find many Frost Trolls. Pass the bridge until you see a hole. If it blocked, use your shovel. Go down and you will find Trolls, to the south, Minotaurs, and to the west, Rotworms, If you have good equipment and do not have a shovel, instead of going south after the bridge, go to the west and enter the first mountain that you see. There is a hole at this location that leads to Frost Trod Rotworms without requiring a shovel.

The Knight Guide

This page will show only the guide. The waypoints and scripts for Tibia NG users will be located in the "Downloads" page.

Level 1 ~ 8.9

When you start the game, you will be in the tutorial island. I recommend doing it, because it will get you 150 free exp and a few useful items. If you prefer not, you can skip the tutorial by saying "skip tutorial" to the first npc you see on the island.

When you finish tutorial island, the first thing you should do is kill pigs and sheep and get as many meat as you can. Fill out your cap with it and then go sell them. Remember, just keep repeating this process until you get at least 60 gp. Now, buy a mace (or axe or a sword) with the money you just earned (maces are about 35 gp), a wooden shield (15 gp at shop), and a leather leg (10 gp at shop). After that, in the house north of Tom the Tanner, do the Doublet Quest.

Now, you have the basic equipments. If you are a NG user, go to Al Dee's rats and hunt there (don't forget to use the almost the "almost level 9" script). If you are a free account player, you can go to Al Dee's rats too until you get level 3 and then hunt the bridge north of town (either the bear cave, trolls cave, wolf cave, or the ladder down straight north after getting off the bridge). If you are a premium account player, you can either hunt at the rats on the premium side of Rookgaard or at the trolls tower in the west plain of the premium side.

You can also do the Chain Armor Quest, Legion Helmet Quest, or the Carlin Sword Quest while you are still at Rookgaard, but do not forget to sell them before you leave, as the Isle of Destiny will provide you with free equipments according to the vocation you choose.

Level 9 ~ 20

Free Account:

You can either go to Carlin or Venore, but always make sure that before you go hunting, you have bought Exura and a Dwarven Shield as they are extremely useful and fairly cheap. Personally, I like Venore a little more because it is relatively more safe. Buy a shovel and a rope if you do not have one, as you will need them to go to the Venore Swamp Trolls or the Venore Rotworm Cave. If you went to Carlin, make sure you buy a few health potions on the way and head straight north west to Folda. Remeber, you are only level 9, so hunt only on the surface and the first floor. If you get bored of this place, you can also go to Femurs Hills to hunt goblins and sell the small stones for money or go to Thais for rotworms.

Premium Account:

I suggest going to the Edron Trolls and Goblin Peninsula or the Port Hope swamp trolls as they are both good hunting spots for levels 9 to 20. To reach the Edron Trolls and Goblin Peninsula, go south of DP, into the sewers, head west, then after you get out, head north. Leveling there should not be too hard, and you can also collect the small stones and sell them for a very good price (about 100 for 1k in my world).

After reaching level 10, you can start hunting at Edron Rotworms, Darashia Rotworms, or at level 12 Port Hope Swamp Trolls (beware or lured slimes or terror birds). At level 15, you can start hunting at Larva caves, which is actually a very good source of experience at this level.

Level 20 ~ 35

As of level 20, you should have at least skills of about 40/40 minimum. If you do not, you should train on the places listed in the Level 9 ~ 20 section on full defense. From the money you got from levels 9 to 20, buy a plate set and a level 20 weapon. If you cannot afford a level 20 weapon, buy a decent no-level weapon that has a good Attack/Cost ratio so that when you do have enough money, you will be able to afford a good weapon.

Do the Desert Quest.

Free Account:

Mount Sternum undead first and second floor is probably the best place in Tibia for knights of level 20 to 35. It has a very good exp rate and also a very good gp loot rate. The only problem is that ghouls and skeletons do not drop food, so you would have to bring somes mushrooms. Another way of getting food is to occasionally leave the cave to hunt a few cyclops and loot them. Do not forget to bring health or mana pots, as sometimes there will be lured crypt shamblers or beholders on the run.

Another good place for Free Account knights is the Fibula Rotworm Cave. The exp rate ranges highly, sometimes in the low 5k/h or even reaching a peak of 15k/h. When you are at Fibula, always bring a few parcels, as there is a mailbox beside the entrance (the guild hall), and also some health or mana potions, as this is a common spot for PKers (because it is so far from town).

Premium Account:

At level 20, Premium account users should hunt at the Liberty Bay Rotworm. You will need a rope and shovel, so do not forget to bring them. If you have skills over 50, you can try going to Dworcs, which are located on the shore very south of Port Hope. Their entrances are usually hidden behind trees so just walk around and you will find yourself suddenly in a very dark place. Never forget to bring health or mana pots as they are very important and will keep you alive a lot of times.

Level 35 ~ 50

Wherever you go now, you should always be carrying more than one bp of health and mana pots. They can really save lives. Now, you should have a balance of about 40k. Do the Noble Armor Quest and the Crusader Helmet Quest. Sell the noble armor and helmet and buy a knight set (or a crown set if you can afford it). Also, do not forget to buy a good weapon and a shield, as they are very important too.

Free Account:

Shadowthorn, Dark Cathedral, and Orc Fortress are the best place to get experience point at levels 36 to 50. Shadownthorn would be the easiest, there it is recommended to try that place first (maybe even at level 30). Even though it might be a little difficult and boring to travel there, the exp rate there would sure make the whole trip rather worth it.

If Shadowthorn is not the place for you, you can also visit Dark Cathedral to make a change. Dark Cathedral is located south of Outlaw Camp and is a very popular place. Don't forget to always stay cautious, as lured vampires or giant spiders could always be on your tail.

If you have really high skills, you can also go to Ulderek's Rock, also known as the Orc Fortress. It is located north of Venore and east of Ab'dendriel. Even though the way there can be quite long and frustrating, it is still worth it, as the exp rate can sometimes be as high as 60k per hour. The strongest creatures there are the Orc Warlords and the orc boss Warlord Ruzad. Do not forget to bring a lot of additional health and mana potions; a full spawn in the deeper part of the castle can easily kill a level 60 or even 70 knight. It is recommended to bring AoE runes, like said before, orcs come in packs.

Premium Account:

Premium account users of this level can either stay in Dworcs (see level 20 to 35 section) for cash or go to the Laguna Islands or Chakoyas for exp.

To reach the Laguna Islands, you will need to do the Eleonore Quest. The strongest monster on the island are the tortoises so they should not be very hard.

To kill Chakoyas, you will have to go to the island Inukaya. Chakoyas are not hard, so killing them should not be so hard either. Killing these can give you a good exp rate, as exp rates on killing creatures on this island can get as high as 30k per hour.

Level 50 ~ 70

At this level, it is more fun to level than just bot your characters. Now, take this time to upgrade your equipments and try to make them into a set like Demon Shield (Or Mastermind Shield if you can afford it at your world), a Dragon Scale Mail, and a Crown Leg or Golden Legs. A royal helmet would also be very good.

Free Account:

This part at level 50 is actually a somewhat hard because you are just in the middle of the minimum level requirements. Good hunting places would be too hard, but easy hunting places would give too few exp. If you want to get through this level fast, you can either stay at the Orc Fortress (look at levels 35 to 50 section), go to the Thais Dragon Liar, or hunting around the temple in the Plains Of Havoc.

If you want to go to the Thais Dragon Liar, it is recommended to bring a huge supply of potions as Dragon and especially Dragon Lord's attacks can sometimes be very destructive. A common tactic used by players is to lure the dragon to a spot where it can be killed one on one. Remember, always stay diagonal to a dragon to avoid the unnecessary strong energy beam damage. Also, dragons run away at low health so be careful not to not chase it into a another big dragon spawn.

Another place for Free Account players is the area beside the Temple in the Plains of Havoc. After the winter update of 2006, a bigger spawn of giant spiders have been added. Therefore, to avoid dying, always remember to bring a lot of health and mana potions and have skills of at least 70/70. If you do not have skill of 70/70, it is still okay to hunt there, but killing a giant spider when you meet one would require more time and and more health potions.

Premium Account:

A very good place for this level is Mistrock, but since Mistrock can be quite hard for players under level 60, it is recommended to continue hunting at the Laguna Islands, the Orc Fortress, or the Thais Dragon Liar until you reach level 60.

Mistrock is one of the islands in south west Yalahar and is filled with Cyclops. Hunting here can be

Keep hunting, but keep in mind that once you reach level 13, you can consider buying a melee weapon (or level 20) to use while you hunt since rods and wands uses mana and you might run out in the middle of a hunt. It is also a good idea to bring a few mana potions, as this level is a primary target for lower level PKers.

Free Account:

You can either go to Carlin or Venore, but always make sure that before you go hunting, you have bought Exura and a Dwarven Shield as they are extremely useful and fairly cheap.

From the money you got from levels 9 to 20, buy a plate set and always remember to upgrade your rod/wand to the newest one. If you have enough money, also try and buy a level 20 weapon as you will need it if you are hunting weaker monsters or else you would run out of mana. If you cannot afford a level 20 weapon, try and get a decent no-level weapon that has a good Attack/Cost ratio. Remember to always upgrade your melee weapon if you have the spare money to, as you will be saving a lot of mana while you hunt.

Do the Desert Quest.

Free Account:

The best place for free account mages is probably the Fibula Rotworm Cave.

Mages at this level can also kill cyclops for gaining experience points. Mount Sternum is a perfect example, but beware of Cyclops Drone and Smiths, as sometimes they can be very deadly. Because Mount Sternum is always full, mages can also hunt at the Thais South Cyclops, which is just directly south (south east) of town. Experience rate there can be quite good too, but because it is not as big as Mount Sternum, sometimes the rate would not be as good as well if it is crowded.

Premium Account:

At level 20, Premium account users can hunt at the Liberty Bay Rotworm. You will need a rope and shovel, so do not forget to bring them. You can also try going to Dworcs, which are located on the shore very south of Port Hope. Their entrances are usually hidden behind trees so just walk around and you will find yourself suddenly in a very dark place. Never forget to bring health or mana pots as they are very important and will keep you alive a lot of times.

Another good hunting spot for mages after level 30 is the North Port Hope Jungle (or level 25 and above if you want to use a melee weapon and have good skills). The exp rate over there can be quite good too, especially if you are alone. To hunt there, you can bring a melee weapon and use the "Exori Flam" spell when you see a Terror Bird or a Slime. The jungle waypoint and script for NG users can be found here at the bottom of the page. Always remember to bring 2 or more backpacks of mana potions, as the spell "Exori Flam" costs manas. If you don't want to use a melee weapon to hunt in the jungle, you can also use a rod or wand, but the speed of mana running out would be way faster.

Level 35 ~ 50

Wherever you go now, you should always be carrying more than one bp of health and mana pots. They can really save lives. Now, you should have some money to spare. Do the Noble Armor Quest, the Crusader Helmet Quest, and the Mad Mage Room Quest. Sell the noble armor and the crusader helmet (if you want) and buy a blue set (try to get the blue robe as soon as possible - maybe level 25). Also, do not forget to upgrade your rod/wand and get a good shield, as they are very important too. At level 40, try to get a Boots of Haste when you have the money too; they are extremely useful.

Free Account:

Leveling a free account user from now on will not be as easy. You can either hunt Cyclops at Mount Sternum (or at the Thais South Cyclops), at Mintwallin, or at the Thais Dragon Layer.

While hunting at Mintwallin, it is recommended to take a friend, as you will be able to kill more monster quicker and be able to bring more mana potions. Another tactic for hunting in Mintwallin, alone, is to summon a monk or two to help you kill the monsters. Mintwallin has a big spawn, so if you meet a crowd of 10 different kinds of minotaurs, it is recommended to use mana shield and run while your monks or friends attack them. Also remember to bring a lot of GFBs or other fire runes; they will be very useful.

When hunting at the Thais Dragon Layer, always bring a ice weapon such as the Hailstorm Rod and a lot of avalanche and icicles runes. Never be outnumbered by a dragon, so stay on alert and make sure you are always dealing with them one at a time. Also remember to always stay diagonal in order to avoid the unnecessary great energy beam.

Premium Account:

There are four options for a premium user hunting at this level. Continue at dworcs, the Port Hope jungle, the Giant Spider Tomb, or the Thais Dragon Layer.

While hunting at the Giant Spider Tomb, make sure you know what is under the floor below you when you go down. The first floor is filled with normal creatures that are very easy to kill. On the second floor, there are mummies and demon skeletons which might be a little more difficult. On the third and last floor, there are vampires, priestess, necromancers, and lich which might be a little strong for lower level players. Remember, if this is your first time, always bring a friend that is more experienced so that you will not die.

Level 50 ~ 75

These are the levels where leveling free account players will be very difficult and boring.

Free Account:

There is not much to say, but to hunt at Mount Sternum, the Plains of Havoc, or the Thais Dragon Layer.

The Plains of Havoc is probably the best place to hunt at this level, so make sure before you go, bring a big supply of pots and runes. It is also good to go with a friend, because mages do not have very good defense skills. After the winter update of 2006, a bigger spawn of giant spiders have been added. To stay safe, hunt near the temple, so whenever you spot a Giant Spider, the protection zone will be a good place to hide.

A very good creature to hunt at this level is the ancient scarab. To kill them, just use fire attacks
